We're agreed it's 99% certain biden is going to lose right? Good. Imagine if in 2016 we knew to near certainty hillary was going to lose, we could have taken the 65 million votes she got and put them someplace else. Guess what we have that opportunity now, and if we do it right we could have basic income and 100% healthcare coverage within the next 10 years. In 2024 that's what we need to do, spread those votes around to 2 or more actual left wing parties as if they get over 5% of the vote they get that much funding for 2028. It has to be a party.
Here's the problem though, all of these parties have different variations of the same platform. So we're going to have to be patient and let them all expel air until the one that makes doing this through social security a priority. None of them have the right priorities right now, not stein not west sure as shit not Libertarians or any self aware right winger. We have less than 10 years before the current recipients of social security have to take a cut to 75% of their benefits. The younger generations, aka our posterity, might not have it all, and at a time when labor is being automated this is going to end badly if we let it.

The only people so far to do this were right wingers, and who wants to vote for more right wingers? It was kind of a stupid pointless thing to happen but we'd be worse off if the Reform party had won something i suppose. Regardless they did get 8% of the vote in 1996 and received matching funds in 2000.
For reference this is what stein spent in 2016: www.opensecrets.org/pres16/candidate?id=N00033776
So if I'm reading that right there was a total of $207 million available for the candidates that qualified for it, but since scotus made bribery legal they don't take it because they can launder billions of dollars instead and sure up their criminal enterprise's infrastructure by passing money around. Say a party got 8% they would be entitle to like $20 million of that or whatever it is in 2024/28. I bet they calculate those colas right. Save your money, you don't need to donate to anyone your vote is free. I don't see what's hard about saying this is what needs to be done and then people know that, why do they need to spend billions of dollars flying around tickling the balls of people that want to be romanced before doing the right thing.
Here's what the 'major parties' spent in the last election (spoiler $14.4 billion in the most expensive election ever, bet you didn't get any): www.opensecrets.org/news/2021/02/2020-cycle-cost-14p4-billion-doubling-16/
I didn't vote for biden or trump last time so it's not going to be that hard for me to not do it again, i guess you'll have to decide whether the future is important to you or not. If none of them have the right platform I won't vote for any of them, I never would have voted for bernie that's for sure. Which one has the best plan for updating and expanding social security that's what I want to know. This might be the only election ever you get to vote for whoever you want. Tell anyone that won't shut up about they can't win that our goal is not winning, although that would be ok too. There are other goals that are ignored that can lead to better outcomes with greater ability to compete. People are also saying this will draw votes from biden only (and who cares right) but I've talked to a lot of 'right wingers' who are fine with basic income and free healthcare for citizens, I wouldn't be surprised if the right platform didn't draw from both.
The opportunity is there and it doesn't seem it will come around many more times. The money isn't even really important, i mean it is to the new party but it has restrictions and apparently the major parties haven't been taking it it's chump change to them, the message it sends and that it shows the people have power is what's important. Maybe enough momentum to do well in 2028 so we aren't stuck with whatever nonsense plan neoliberals come up with for social security, it can be really good for citizens or really shitty. It would be nice if someone could run with this party and this platform. The difference between this and yang's nonsense is whoever takes this plank isn't running on ubi, they're running on updating and expanding social security and basic income is in it.
This is the part of it where I tell them what we want and how to do it. What happens from here is up to them, I can talk shit about you or be your best friend, either way is fine with me.

The Reform Party's presidential nominee for the 2000 election was due federal matching funds of $12.5 million (~$21.6 million in 2022), based on Perot's 8 percent showing in 1996. Early on, there was a failed effort to draft Ron Paul.[4][15]
